Science Teacher – Exciting Opportunity in a Bournemouth Secondary School

Teaching Personnel Dorset is seeking passionate Science teachers to apply for an exciting opportunity within a large, dynamic secondary school located in Bournemouth. This role is ideal for someone who wants to inspire young people and contribute to whole-school development within a well-resourced, supportive environment.

In September 2025, the school’s Science department will benefit from a £3.48 million refurbishment, providing each teacher with a modern, fully equipped teaching laboratory.

About the Role:

  • Position: Science Teacher

  • Start Date: September 2025

  • Location: Bournemouth, easily accessible from Poole, Christchurch, Wimborne, and surrounding areas.

  • Salary: Main Pay Range / Upper Pay Range – suitable for ECTs and experienced teachers.

  • Hours: Full-time preferred, part-time applications considered for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Science lessons across the full age and ability range.

  • Teaching Excellence: Use a variety of teaching strategies, track student progress, and provide feedback in line with school policy.

  • Student Support: Set homework, offer formative feedback, and collaborate with the SEND team to support all learners.

  • Professional Development: Stay updated on curriculum changes, maintain high standards of professionalism, and seek opportunities for growth.

  • Wider Contribution: Participate in extracurricular activities, pastoral care, and whole-school initiatives.

Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone who:
✔ Has a strong passion for Science and excellent subject knowledge.
✔ Is an engaging and effective classroom practitioner.
✔ Uses creative and varied teaching methods to inspire students.
✔ Has up-to-date knowledge of the Science curriculum and education developments.

This role is open to Early Career Teachers (ECTs), who will benefit from a structured support programme, as well as experienced teachers eager to share their expertise.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
