SEN Teaching Assistant

About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is excited to be recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Manchester starting in February 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to work with students who require additional support, helping them thrive academically and socially within a school environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs (SEN), both in and outside the classroom.
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and tailored learning activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting student engagement and independence.
- Support students during classroom activities, helping them with their academic work, social skills, and emotional regulation.
- Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and other staff to ensure that students receive the best possible support.
- Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback where appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with students with special educational needs, ideally in a secondary school setting (though not essential).
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
- Ability to adapt to the diverse needs of students and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for making a difference and supporting students in reaching their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
