Job description

Here at TP Tutors, we work directly with the local authority and schools to ensure that children outside of education get the opportunity to thrive academically. 

We are seeking a tutor for a Year 11 SEN girl who needs 1-1 tuition within a Secondary school located in Northampton. This young person has ADHD and has suffered from a brain injury, which make it hard for her to concentrate and she struggles in social situations. This YP needs support with English, Maths and Science tuition, as they have missed a lot of lessons resulting in her having major gaps in her knowledge within these core subjects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored teaching and support to students, planning and preparing lessons.
  • Work with students with a range of needs, including SEMH and SEN, to support their educational progress.
  • Devise a tailored plan with the student to help support their needs, focusing on core subjects.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience teaching children, ideally in special educational settings or with students who have SEMH/SEN needs.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to support the individual needs of students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with students, parents, and other professionals.
  • A minimum commitment of 5 hours of teaching during the school day, across 3 days.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
