Location: Rawtenstall
Position: Pupil Support Worker
Working Hours: Monday - Thursday: 8:15am - 3:00pm, Friday: 8:15am - 2:20pm
Hourly Rate: £12.90 per hour
Age Range: 11-16 years

Are you passionate about supporting young people who face challenges in their learning journey? Do you have experience working with students who may have struggled in mainstream school and require additional support?

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Pupil Support Worker to join our team in Rawtenstall. In this role, you will be providing support to pupils with challenging behaviour, helping them to succeed and thrive in a nurturing environment. The students you will be working with are aged 11-16 years and have often found mainstream education challenging.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to students with challenging behaviour
  • Help to create a positive, structured, and supportive environment for learning
  • Support pupils in managing their emotions and behaviour, promoting positive engagement in school life
  • Work alongside teachers and other staff to implement behaviour plans and support strategies
  • Assist with academic progress and development where required
  • Be a positive role model for pupils and help them build confidence in their abilities

About You:

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with challenging behaviour
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • A commitment to providing the best outcomes for young people
