Psychology Graduate

Location: Tamworth
Contract: Full-time, starting September                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Hours: Monday to Friday (8:30 to 15:30)
Weekly Salary: £420 to £450

Are you a recent Psychology Graduate?

Are you looking to specialise into child psychology and want to gain some experience?

Teaching Personnel is actively recruiting psychology graduates to provide individualized 1:1 support to students with special educational needs (SEN) at an OFSTED ‘Outstanding’ specialist school in Tamworth. The school caters to students aged 11-19, all of whom have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and face learning challenges or delays. Their needs vary, including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and autism.

The school's curriculum is designed to be flexible and creativity-driven, offering students diverse learning experiences that play an integral role in their educational journey. The position is full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30 AM - 3:30 PM).

The school offers various facilities such as a sports hall, kitchen, engineering workshops, an art studio, and a school shop, all of which are accessible to students daily. If successful, your role may also involve working with students in small groups or 1:1 therapeutic interventions. The position is available for a September start.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting teaching staff with lesson delivery.
  • Leading small group sessions.
  • Providing 1:1 support for students requiring extra help.
  • Monitoring student progress and offering feedback to teaching staff.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • A degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • Experience working with young people.
  • Experience with SEN, whether in schools, personal situations, the care sector, or through community engagement.
  • A passion for education and supporting vulnerable young people.
  • A current, clear DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • A commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).
  • A positive, adaptable, and versatile mindset.
  • A full, valid UK driving license.
  • A desire to help young people lead fulfilling lives.
