Location: Tamworth

Contract: Temporary 

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm

Weekly Salary:£420 to £450

Teaching Personnel are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistants for a position in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) primary school located in Tamworth. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, where you will support young people with additional needs both individually and in small groups.

The school offers inclusive education for children aged 7 to 18 with a variety of special needs, including autism, behavioral challenges, and learning difficulties. Some children may require assistance with personal care, so candidates must be willing to support in this area. The successful Psychology Graduate will have a theoretical understanding of psychology and special educational needs.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field
  • Passion for working with young children and making a positive impact on their education
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong rapport with pupils
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting teaching staff in delivering lessons
  • Leading small group sessions
  • Providing one-on-one support to students needing additional help
  • Monitoring student progress and giving feedback to teaching staff
