Psychology Graduate SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Wolverhampton
Full-Time Monday to Friday | Term-Time Only
Salary: £90 - £100 Per Day
Start Date: April 2025

We are looking for a compassionate and proactive SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and dynamic team at a forward-thinking school. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in an educational setting, especially if you are considering a career in educational psychology, teaching, or therapy.
The Role

Work closely with pupils who require additional support for SEMH needs.

Assist the class teacher and SENCO in delivering tailored interventions and behaviour support strategies.

Build positive relationships and offer 1:1 or small group support to help pupils engage in learning and develop emotional resilience.

Monitor and record progress, behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

Be a role model of empathy, patience and consistency in the classroom.
About You

A degree in Psychology or a related field.

A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEMH needs.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Resilient, adaptable and confident in managing behaviour positively.

Previous experience in a school or with young people (voluntary or paid) is highly desirable.
