Primary Teaching Assistant

Are you an enthusiastic individual seeking classroom experience within a mainstream Primary school?
Teaching Personnel are working closely with a primary school located in Wigan seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to join their team. The individual must be passionate and enthusiastic about the development of young students. This is a great opportunity for either established Teaching Assistants or aspiring teachers looking for classroom experience.
- The school is in an excellent location with great transport links between Leigh and Westhoughton
- Opportunity to earn £85-£110 per day (dependent on experience)
- Full-time role
The role:
- Working 1-1 or in small groups with students who require additional academic support
- Assisting the class teacher in maintaining behaviour and ensuring the schools behaviour policies are followed
- Assisting the class teacher in preparing lessons and resources
- Liaising with staff members and parents, providing updates on the student’s academic progress and development
What we are looking for:
- Experience within a school is necessary, primary school setting is preferable
- Strong communication skills with both students and other members of staff
- Good understanding of childhood development and managing behaviours
- Safeguarding training (must be done through Teaching Personnel)
To be considered for this role, applicants must have a DBS registered on the update service or be willing to apply for one upon registering with Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
