Primary Teaching Assistant
Job description
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a primary school setting? Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work full-time in primary schools across Plymouth for the summer term.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to teachers and students, ensuring a positive and effective learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
-
Working with small groups or on a one-to-one basis with pupils who need additional support
-
Assisting with learning activities, assessments, and pupil engagement
-
Helping to create a safe and inclusive learning space for all students
-
Encouraging pupil participation and fostering a love for learning
-
Providing support for students with SEND and additional needs as required
Candidate Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
-
Previous experience working in a UK-based primary school
-
A passion for education and supporting young learners
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
A proactive and adaptable approach to working in different classroom settings
-
The ability to manage behaviour effectively and support children with varying needs
-
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)

Hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS on the update service

Provide two professional references, including one from a recent educational role

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
