Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Cover Teacher on behalf of a Primary school based in Macclesfield. The school is looking for a fully qualified teacher to provide general cover across various classes; this may include covering sickness or PPA time. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and passionate about the development of young students.

About the role:

  • Immediate start upon registering with Teaching Personnel
  • Ongoing until the end of the academic year
  • Opportunity for a permanent contract in September

As a Cover Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching and covering classes in the absence of the class teacher. Lessons may be pre-planned, but you may also be expected to prepare engaging lessons adhering to the national curriculum and the schools core values. Additionally, you will communicate with other members of staff and SLT to provide feedback and progress reports on the students behavioural and academic development.

What we’re looking for:

  • QTS or equivalent
  • Experience within a primary school is necessary for this role
  • Good knowledge of the national curriculum and current behaviour management techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students and staff

This role is a great opportunity for an experienced Primary Teacher looking for a change in role or a Newly Qualified Teacher seeking further classroom experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
