Do you have experience managing challenging behaviour?

Join a large successful secondary academy in Manchester, seeking to appoint a Behaviour Mentor on a full time basis. This position will commence as soon as schools in the UK reopen and will focus on managing student behaviour across all year groups.

The successful candidate will join the academies Pastoral Support team and will work with the schools Senior Leadership Team and Heads of Year in developing and implementing behaviour strategies.

They will establish effective working relationships with students across years 7 - 11, acting as a role model, setting high expectations and creating a positive ethos. Additionally, this position will involve supporting individual students on a one to one and small group basis.

The successful Behaviour Mentor will provide support to students displaying challenging behavior, students with Social Emotional Mental Health difficulties, ADHD and students who have been in local authority care for 6 months or more or have recently left care under special guardianship order or a residential order.

The ideal candidate for this Behaviour Mentor role will:

• Be educated to degree level
• Have experience working with secondary aged students in an educational capacity or relevant setting such as Youth Work/Sport Coach/Mentor
• Be able to manage challenging behavior and diffuse difficult situations
• Be able to creative a positive learning environment

This popular secondary academy is located in South Manchester and has been recognised for its significant improvements. In a recent Ofsted report, the academy was judged to be ‘Good’ with a strong and determined leadership team. Due to recent investments, the school now has excellent state of the art facilities including modern well resourced classrooms.
