Pastoral Assistant – Full-Time | Temp-to-Perm | Multi-Site (Primary & Secondary)
A dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Assistant is required to support students across three sites, covering both primary and secondary education. This is a full-time role, providing essential pastoral support to ensure all students can engage effectively with their learning.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Assistant Headteachers, Heads of School, Executive Headteacher, and Governors in achieving the school’s core aims and objectives. Working as part of the Pastoral Team, they will act as a vital link between Senior Safeguarding Managers, Pastoral Managers, and Teaching Staff, ensuring a coordinated approach to student well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students facing barriers to learning, including issues related to attendance, home circumstances, emotional well-being, and social or behavioural difficulties.
- Provide targeted interventions to help students develop positive ‘behaviours for learning’ and raise their aspirations.
- Work closely with safeguarding and pastoral teams to implement effective strategies for student support.
- Foster strong relationships with students, offering guidance, encouragement, and a consistent point of support.
- Maintain clear boundaries and expectations while demonstrating empathy and resilience.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Passionate about supporting young people, particularly those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Emotionally intelligent, resilient, and able to handle challenging situations with professionalism.
- Able to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and external agencies.
- Experienced in pastoral, safeguarding, or student support roles (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
