Job description

We are looking for a dedicated Attendance and Emotional Support Mentor to join our team in Oxford. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping students overcome barriers to attendance and emotional well-being, creating a positive impact on their academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students who experience emotional-based school avoidance, helping them re-engage with their education.

  • Establish strong, trusting relationships with students to provide emotional support and guidance.

  • Work closely with students to develop strategies for building confidence and improving relationships with peers and staff.

  • Collaborate with teaching staff and parents to monitor and track progress.

  • Provide ongoing emotional support and motivation to help students overcome obstacles to school attendance and success.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students who struggle with emotional well-being and school attendance.

  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students and gain their confidence.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to tailor your approach to individual needs.

  • Ability to develop and implement strategies that promote confidence, engagement, and positive relationships.

  • A proactive, empathetic, and patient approach to mentoring students.

Pay:

  • £20 - £30 per hour (depending on experience).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
