Maths Teacher – Secondary School in Southampton

Location: Southampton
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: January 2024

An innovative and high-achieving secondary school in Southampton is looking for a Maths Teacher to join their successful Maths department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for mathematics who is committed to helping students excel in this key subject.

The Role
As a Maths Teacher, you will:

  • Teach Maths to students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5.
  • Develop students' understanding of mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills through engaging and interactive lessons.
  • Assess, monitor, and support student progress, providing tailored interventions to ensure every student achieves their full potential.
  • Participate in department meetings, contribute to curriculum planning, and take part in wider school initiatives.
  • Inspire a love for Maths and help students build the confidence to tackle complex problems.

Requirements

  • A UK-recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching Maths at secondary level.
  • A strong understanding of the GCSE Maths curriculum.
  • A passion for mathematics and a commitment to helping students succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
