Maths Teacher required for a secondary school in Portsmouth

Our partner secondary school in Portsmouth is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths Teacher to join their dynamic and supportive team. Responsibilities:

  • Teaching & Learning: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging Maths lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, following the national curriculum.
  • Assessment & Evaluation: Regularly assess and evaluate students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement, while managing classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and review of the Maths curriculum, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of all students.
  • Professional Development: Participate in continuous professional development opportunities and contribute to the sharing of best practices within the school.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Support and participate in school-wide activities, clubs, or events that enhance the educational experience of students.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: A relevant degree in Mathematics or a related field. A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, etc.) is essential.
  • Experience: Previous teaching experience in a secondary school setting is preferred. Newly qualified teachers (NQTs) are also encouraged to apply.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of the Maths curriculum, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment: A passion for education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for all students.
