Job description

Mathematics Teacher (Full-Time) - Hornchurch, January 2025

We are assisting a highly-regarded school in Hornchurch with the recruitment of a dedicated and dynamic Mathematics Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive and forward-thinking team in a school committed to academic excellence. 

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Mathematics to a range of student abilities and year groups.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that inspire students and promote a love of learning.
  • Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support to ensure all students reach their potential.
  • Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging active student participation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Mathematics department and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Support students with extracurricular activities, including academic clubs and competitions.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, keeping them informed of student progress and addressing any concerns.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject (QTS is highly desirable).
  • Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level, with knowledge of the GCSE and A-Level curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • A passion for Mathematics and a commitment to student success.
  • The ability to adapt teaching methods to suit a variety of learning styles and abilities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
