Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant Position Available in Stockport
Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated 'Good' secondary school in Stockport. This full-time position is available to start ASAP and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming a permanent role based on performance. The pay for this position ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.
Role Overview:
As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the mathematics department and enhancing the learning experience for students. Your responsibilities will include:
- Classroom Assistance: Supporting the maths teacher with lesson preparation and delivery, ensuring students are engaged and understand the material.
- Individual Student Support: Providing targeted one-on-one assistance to students who need extra help with their maths studies, helping them to grasp complex concepts.
- Small Group Sessions: Leading small group tutoring sessions to focus on specific areas of the maths curriculum, facilitating a deeper understanding of the subject matter.
- Resource Preparation: Assisting in the creation and preparation of teaching materials and resources to support lessons and student learning.
- Student Mentorship: Acting as a mentor to students, offering academic guidance and emotional support to help them achieve their educational goals.
- Assessment Support: Helping with the marking and assessment of student work, providing feedback and tracking student progress.
- Behaviour Management: Supporting the teacher in maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment, adhering to the school's behaviour policies.
- Extra-Curricular Activities: Participating in and supporting maths-related extra-curricular activities, encouraging student involvement and enthusiasm for the subject.
- Administrative Duties: Assisting with various administrative tasks related to classroom management and student records.
Requirements:
- A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
- A passion for mathematics education and a desire to support student learning and development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to different classroom environments.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of students.
- Previous experience working with young people or in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
