Job Title: Maths ECT (Early Career Teacher) – Burnley

Location: Burnley, Lancashire
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £31,650 per annum

Are you a passionate and dedicated Early Career Teacher specialising in Mathematics? Do you aspire to make a meaningful impact in an alternative provision setting? We are looking for a Maths teacher to join a committed team in Burnley, who provide tailored educational experiences for pupils aged 11 to 16 who have faced challenges in mainstream education.

About the Role:

As a Maths ECT, you will deliver engaging and personalised mathematics lessons to small groups of students. Our curriculum emphasises core subjects, with a focus on closing knowledge gaps and enhancing social and emotional well-being. You will play a pivotal role in preparing students for successful transitions back to mainstream education or into further academic and vocational pathways.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality mathematics lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or pending QTS by September 2025.
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
  • Specialisation in Mathematics.
  • A strong commitment to inclusive education and student development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to support students with diverse learning needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
