Job description

Are you passionate about helping students achieve their full potential in Maths and English? We're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated tutor to join our team in Reading, delivering high-quality tuition tailored to individual student needs.

About the Role:
As a tutor, you will work with students across various age groups, providing support in either Maths, English, or both subjects. You will assess students’ needs, plan engaging lessons, and deliver tailored schemes of work that drive progress and confidence.

Key Details:

  • Location: Reading (tuition delivered at student’s home, school, or a local venue)

  • Pay: £20–£30 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications)

  • Hours: Part-time or full-time – flexible schedule to suit your availability

What You'll Do:

  • Assess students' current levels and learning styles

  • Plan and deliver customised lessons in Maths and/or English

  • Track and report progress to parents or guardians

  • Build strong, supportive relationships with students

  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of learners

Requirements:

  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths and English (GCSE level or above)

  • Previous tutoring or teaching experience preferred

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Reliable transport to travel within Reading and surrounding areas

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
