A vibrant primary school located in Lytham St. Annes are seeking to appoint a behaviour support assistant on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will work within year 2, supporting a number of pupils who are struggling with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Applications are encouraged from applicants who have experience in supporting:

• Children with behavioural difficulties
• Children with Social and Emotional Mental Health needs (SEMH) 
• Children in residential care
• Pupils with gaps in learning & development due to the school closures
• Lower attaining pupils

The successful Support Assistant will work alongside classroom teachers and senior leaders to provide academic and pastoral support to individual pupils. The role will involve delivering programmes of work outside of the classroom and providing in class support to encourage positive behaviour and to raise self-esteem. Support will also be provided to students with Social and Emotional Mental Health needs to support their academic and personal welfare.

Highlights of this position:

• April 2022 start
• Full-time position until the end of the academic year (July 2022)
• Supporting students with behavioural difficulties and social and emotional mental health needs.
• Providing in class support and delivering programmes of work outside of the classroom on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.

The successful candidate will join a popular and vibrant multi-cultural primary school located in the heart of Lytham. The school is easily accessible from the centre and surrounding areas and for those who drive; the school has a large car park accessible for all staff members.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
