Teaching Personnel are working closely with a Special Educational Needs primary school in Huddersfield who are looking for an experienced and dedicated candidate to work 1:1 in the classroom with a child with Autism. We are looking for a full-time candidate willing to work long term in this role with the possibility of becoming a permanent member of staff if successful. The school offers the opportunity to learn functional, personal care, social and covational skills as well as following the national curriculum.
The school work with children who display very challenging behaviour and SEN such as Autism, ADHD and speech and language difficulties. The candidate needs to have Team Teach, MAPA or equivalent training in order to deescalate these challenging behaviours effectively.
You must be proactive in your approach with the children and be firm but fair. You will need to support teachers in helping children overcome barriers to learning, de-escalate challenging behaviour in the school and engage with the pupils.
The ideal candidate for this role would desirably possess the following experience and qualification:
* Previous experience of working within a Pupil Referral Unit or similar setting
* Team Teach Qualification or equivalent
* Resilient and proactive nature - willing to over come challenges that will occur daily
* Teaching Assistant Qualification
