Would you like a new an exciting opportunity to work as a 1:1? 

 

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic candidate to work as a Learning Support Assistant in the Preston area. This is a very rewarding role, where no two days will be the same. You will be a 1:1 support for a pupil who shows challenging behaviour and signs of ADHD within the Year 1 class.  

Role: Learning Support Assistant  
Pay: Starts at £12.90 per hour
Location: Central Preston
Hours: 09:00-15:00 (Monday to Friday) 
 
Main Roles & Responsibilities 

  • Required to work on a 1:1 basis with the selected pupil encouraging and supporting the work set by the class teacher. 
  • Shadow the pupil during all lessons throughout the day and potentially during lunch time. 
  • Ensuring the pupil is work ready with all the correct equipment and is on time. 
  • During the lessons you may need to prevent potential disruption that may occur, de-escalating situations and stepping in to remove the pupil from the lesson if needed.  
  • Establish productive working relationships with the pupil and set expectations.  
  • To give positive encouragement, feedback, and praise to reinforce pupils’ efforts and develop self-esteem.  
  • Promote the inclusion of pupils and encourage pupils to interact with each other.  

The Ideal Candidate will be someone who is; 

  • Positive, energetic, and patient. 
  • Has the ability to use their own initiative in challenging situations that may arise. 
  • Takes the hands-on approach and is always ready to support the pupil and class teacher. 
  • Able to have the ability to develop strong relationships between the pupil. 
  • Passionate for working with the special educational need’s environment. 
  • Able to keep calm under pressure. 
  • Motivational and has a supportive nature.

All candidates will need to hold a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate and have it on the update service. Full assistance will be provided to support the completion of the essential criteria.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
