Job description

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location:

North West England, Lancashire, Poulton-le-Fylde

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

£12.90 - £14.00 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Supporting students with special educational needs in their learning and development
  • Assisting classroom teachers in planning and delivering tailored educational activities
  • Providing one-on-one support to students who require additional help
  • Helping to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Assisting with behaviour management and promoting positive behaviour
  • Collaborating with other staff members and parents to support student progress

Required Qualifications:

  • A relevant teaching assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs
  • Good understanding of SEN support strategies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics

Experience:

Prior experience in a similar role within an educational setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of SEN practises and procedures
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Excellent communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents
  • Strong organisational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in specific areas of SEN support
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Working within a school environment
  • Full-time hours, temporary position
  • Potential for some variation in daily tasks and responsibilities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
