Join Our Team as a Learning Support Assistant in Highcliffe!

Location: Highcliffe
Contract Type: Full-time, with opportunities for long-term placements
Start Date: After February Half Term 2025

Are you an experienced and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) seeking a meaningful role? Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for dedicated LSAs to work in secondary schools in Highcliffe and surrounding areas.

We collaborate with a variety of schools looking for committed individuals to support students with diverse needs, including SEN, SEMH, and other additional learning challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide focused support to students in class, small groups, or one-on-one settings.
  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery, ensuring all students can engage and succeed.
  • Encourage and foster student independence and confidence in their learning journey.
  • Support students with SEN, tailoring interventions to meet their specific needs.
  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour, following school policies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with staff to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging educational environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with secondary-aged students, particularly those with SEN or additional needs.
  • Skills: A strong understanding of SEN and SEMH strategies, along with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Attitude: Patience, empathy, and adaptability when supporting students.
  • Commitment: A proactive, team-oriented approach to working within a school environment and upholding its values and safeguarding policies.
  • Contribution: Ability to assist in planning and evaluating tailored learning interventions.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
