Join Our Team as a Learning Support Assistant!

Location: Wimborne
Contract Type: Full-time, with the potential for a permanent position
Start Date: February Half Term 2025

Teaching Personnel, the UK's leading education staffing supplier, is currently sourcing Learning Support Assistants for Secondary Schools in the Wimborne area. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a temp-to-perm basis, where you’ll have the chance to secure a permanent position after 12–16 weeks, subject to mutual agreement.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Assist teachers in preparing lesson materials and classroom setups.
  • Support students on a 1:1 or small group basis, helping with their learning and development.
  • Monitor, record, and report on students’ progress.
  • Provide care for children who may be upset or unwell.
  • Occasionally lead classes under the guidance of a teacher.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: Prior experience in a school or working with children/young adults is an advantage.
  • Attitude: Friendly, confident, calm, and adaptable, especially when working with children from vulnerable backgrounds.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with safeguarding and “Keeping Children Safe in Education” guidelines.
  • Passion: A strong commitment to helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Skills: A calming presence and the ability to engage effectively with pupils (Years 7–11).
  • Values: Dedication to contributing to the ethos and development of the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
