Location: Secondary School in Fareham
Contract Type: Part-Time, Term-Time (28.5 hours per week, over 40 weeks)
Working Hours: 8.30 am – 3.40 pm (Monday – Thursday), 8.30 am – 2.40 pm (Friday)

About the Role:
A secondary school in Fareham is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team. The role involves working closely with secondary pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), specifically those with needs in Cognition and Learning, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH), and Communication and Interaction. The successful candidate will provide essential support to help these students access the curriculum, engage with their learning, and reach their full potential.

The LSA will work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to deliver tailored support for students with a variety of learning difficulties. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about making a positive impact on students' educational experiences and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing individual and small group support to students with SEN, ensuring they can access the curriculum and fully participate in lessons.
  • Supporting students with Cognition and Learning, SEMH, and Communication and Interaction needs to encourage positive learning outcomes.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of personalized learning plans and strategies.
  • Promoting inclusion, ensuring students engage in all aspects of school life, both in and outside the classroom.
  • Supporting students to develop social and emotional skills, helping to improve their well-being and behaviour.
  • Assisting with practical tasks such as note-taking, recording work, and using assistive technology.
  • Collaborating with teachers, other LSAs, and the SENCO to ensure students' needs are met.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
