Learning Mentor
Teaching Personnel are currently working with a school in the Redruth area who are looking for Learning Mentors, to support students academic and social development. This is a full-time role, so applicants should ensure they are available 08:30am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday. Due to the location and the requirements of this role, a driving licence is essential.
We are looking for positive role models for students, who are looking to provide encouragement and motivation to primary and secondary aged pupils. This is a highly rewarding role for the right educators, with fantastic training provided.
People with transferrable skills from backgrounds such as Support Work, Care Work, Nursing, Youth Work and Sports Coaching tend to succeed in this role. We are looking for people who have a Level 3 or equivalent qualification in a relevant area. Other qualifications will be considered for enthusiastic individuals who have a positive attitude towards the role.
Individuals will need to have a Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service prior to being placed in a school, however, assistance can be provided with this during the registration process. Knowledge of policies including Child Protection, Health and Safety, Behaviour, Equal Opportunities, and Teaching and Learning is crucial to the role, therefore, candidates will be offered a two-week fully paid induction, where all training for the role will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
