SEN Teaching Assistant
Job description
Teaching Personnel are currently working with a setting in Bodmin who are looking for Learning Mentors to join them on a full-time, permanent basis, beginning as soon as possible. The hours for this role are 08:30 – 15:00, Monday – Friday.
This is a predominantly 1:1 role, working with a student both inside and outside the classroom, encouraging their academic performance, as well as engaging them socially. Throughout the day, you may go off school site with the pupil, so a full, clean, driving licence is essential in this role. You will be working closely with the children, parents, and other professionals, observing the child’s development, and offering new initiatives that inspire them to progress further.
To be considered for this role, you must have a Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant area, including:
- Health & Social Care
- Childcare
- Sports Coaching
- Supporting Learning & Education
Other qualifications may be considered.
The ideal candidate will also have previous experience or transferrable skills in either the following sectors or another relevant role:
- Youth Work
- Support Work
- Psychology
Due to a high demand for Teaching Assistants, you will be paid for a full two-week induction, undergoing all of the training you will need for this role, as well as gaining an understanding of the school’s ethos and vision. During your induction, you will participate in safeguarding training, as well as the schools equivalent of TeamTeach.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
