Job description

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and passionate Religious Studies professional to take on a leadership role within a dynamic and growing educational environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and delivering an outstanding Religious Studies curriculum, helping shape the educational experience for students at all levels.

Position: Leader of Religious Studies

Location: Northampton, UK

Salary: MPS / UPS Scale - £162.31pd - £251.71pd 

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Religious Studies department, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality curriculum that meets the needs of all students.

  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential through engaging and thought-provoking lessons.

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve departmental performance, including monitoring and supporting student progress.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster a cohesive and effective learning environment across the school.

  • Contribute to the wider school community, participating in extracurricular activities, and supporting the development of the school’s ethos and values.

  • Act as a mentor to other staff members within the department, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a proven track record in teaching Religious Studies, ideally with leadership experience in a similar setting.

  • Be an enthusiastic and committed professional with a passion for teaching and learning.

  • Possess strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire both students and colleagues.

  • Be forward-thinking, with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in teaching.

  • Hold a relevant degree in Religious Studies or a closely related field, with a recognized teaching qualification.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
