Job description

Job Title: KS3 Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Chelmsford

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths tuition to Key Stage 3 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Create individualised learning plans to support each student's academic progress
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to enhance students' understanding and confidence in English and Maths
  • Assess student's learning needs and adapt teaching methods accordingly
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents/guardians

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with SEN students

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in SEN education

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the KS3 English and Maths curriculum
  • Ability to differentiate teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of SEN students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with SEN

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Additional training in specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia or dyscalculia

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
