Job description

Are you a teacher passionate about supporting children with SEN and SEMH needs, looking to move into tuition?

 

We are looking for tutors in and around Colchester, and surrounding areas, to work with young people who are struggling to access mainstream school, and are in need of additional support. These young people may be in need of our additional support because:

  • Recently moved to a new location
  • Excluded from school
  • They are a Looked After Child
  • A recent diagnosis of SEN/ SEMH that requires specialist provision

We have a high demand for tutors in the Colchester area who can support Secondary aged pupils, with work being centred around English, Maths and Science.

Our ideal SEN/ SEMH Tutor:

  • Has SEN/ SEMH experience
  • Confident in dealing with challenging behaviour
  • Passionate about supporting and making a real difference to young people.
  • Able to tailor lessons according to the young persons needs and deliver engaging sessions accordingly.

Our roles:

  • Tuition will take place in the young persons home or an agreed public venue, such as a library.
  • You will have a personal tuition consultant to look for roles for you and support you.
  • Competitive wage of up to £30 per hour.
  • We provide access to our online platform LEAP, where tutors can report a pupils engagement, attendance and progress easily.
  • We have online learning modules available for all of our tutors.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
