KS2 (Year 5) Classroom Teacher role

Start date: November 2024.

Year group: Year 5.

Role: Classroom Teacher.

Full time (Long Term).

Are you a qualified teacher looking for a role that will offer the opportunity to constantly improve and grow within a supportive and welcoming school environment? Are you currently searching for the ideal school to undertake your ECT year, with the opportunity to develop your skillset and expertise within the teaching profession. If this seems like something you would be interested in, then read on!

The school:

The school itself is located within the Skelmersdale area and is recognised throughout the community as a school that promotes a welcoming and supportive learning environment for all pupils that attend. The school is Ofsted rated GOOD and has received excellent feedback regarding the quality of teaching provided, in addition to the opportunities that are provided to pupils for trying new and exciting things! The school aims to promote many enrichment opportunities for pupils, and this extends to pupils with SEND, who benefit from a range of educational visits. In addition to this, the school also adapts activities so that pupils and children with SEND can access the same ambitious curriculum as other pupils. Given that the school has higher than average levels of SEND and disadvantaged pupils, it would be beneficial to have experience of working with SEND or in areas of high disadvantage, although this would not be essential.

The role:

As a KS2 Classroom Teacher you will be expected to plan and teach the year 5 curriculum, ensuring that learning is both fun and interesting, in addition to ensuring that all learning is made accessible to pupils of all ability levels, including those with SEND. In addition to this, you will also ensure other classroom responsibilities are attended to, including taking part within or leading extracurricular activities both during and after the school day. Proven experience of working with and managing the delegation of other adults or TA`s within a classroom environment would also be beneficial, although this is not an essential requirement for the role. Furthermore, the school is looking to develop and improve upon how their current science curriculum is taught, so expertise around teaching primary science would also be a bonus, although this is not essential!
