KS1 Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (Personal Care Involved) – Full-Time, Starting Easter 2025

We are currently recruiting a compassionate and dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a student with additional needs at a school in Blackburn. Starting Easter 2025, this full-time role will involve supporting the child’s academic progress as well as providing personal care, ensuring a positive and nurturing environment for their growth and development.

Position: KS1 Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support with Personal Care)
Start Date: Easter 2025
Hours: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a KS1 student, assisting with both academic tasks and personal care
  • Support the delivery of personalised learning activities tailored to the student’s needs
  • Assist with personal care routines, including mobility, hygiene, and feeding
  • Promote social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to track and support the student’s progress
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
  • Build a supportive and trusting relationship with the student and their family

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children, ideally in KS1 or with additional needs
  • A compassionate, patient, and understanding approach to supporting children
  • Ability to provide personal care with dignity and respect
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Positive and proactive attitude in supporting the child’s individual needs
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are preferred but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
