KS1 Teaching Assistant
Job description
A Primary School in Accrington is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team for the Summer term. They are looking for someone who can join their KS1 team to support children across Year 1 and Year 2.
If you are passionate about making a difference to children’s development and learning, this role may be for you! You will need to be able to build relationships with children, staff and families to enable the best possible outcomes for our children.
- Hours: Full-time 8:30 – 15:30
- Pay: £13.75 - £15 per hour
- Location: Accrington
Your responsibilities:
- Create a stimulating and engaging learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, other professionals and parents.
- Commit to the wider life of the school and the community of the school.
- Assist the class teacher with delivering lessons and sessions to small groups across KS1.
- Have an understanding of children’s needs so that interventions can be planned and delivered.
- Establish trusting relationships with pupils and interact with them in order to support their needs.
Requirements:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
- Relevant experience working with children, within a school setting.
- A good understanding of the KS1 curriculum
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Have a passion for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
- Experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Enhanced DBS – assistance provided if required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
