Teaching Personnel is excited to announce an opportunity for a Humanities Graduate to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time role begins in March and runs until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent position based on performance.
About the Role:
This role offers a unique chance for a passionate Humanities graduate to inspire and support students in subjects such as History, Geography, or Religious Education. Whether you are considering a future in teaching or wish to gain experience in an educational setting, this role provides invaluable exposure to classroom dynamics and student interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students in Humanities subjects, providing one-to-one or small group support to help them grasp key concepts and enhance their learning experience.
- Collaborate with teachers to deliver engaging and interactive lessons, ensuring all students are actively participating and progressing.
- Support students with varying abilities, including those with special educational needs (SEN), tailoring your assistance to meet individual requirements.
- Help students develop key skills, such as critical thinking, essay writing, and source analysis, essential for success in Humanities subjects.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and offering guidance to students on areas for improvement.
- Contribute to classroom management and help maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Support the organization and delivery of extra-curricular activities and field trips related to Humanities, enhancing students’ learning experiences.
What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a degree in a Humanities subject (e.g., History, Geography, Religious Education, or a related field).
- Be passionate about education and supporting young people in their academic journeys.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
- Be patient, adaptable, and proactive, with a strong desire to make a positive impact in the classroom.
- Have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Prior experience working with young people, either in an educational setting or through voluntary roles, is advantageous but not essential.
