Job Advertisement: Graduate Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time role begins in March and extends until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent position based on performance.

About the Role:
This position is ideal for graduates eager to gain hands-on experience in education. Whether you are considering a career in teaching or wish to support students in achieving their full potential, this role offers valuable exposure to classroom settings and student development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students across a range of subjects, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals.
  • Assist teachers in preparing and delivering engaging lessons, contributing to a dynamic and interactive learning environment.
  • Work closely with students who have varying abilities, including those with special educational needs (SEN), adapting your approach to meet individual requirements.
  • Support classroom management, ensuring a positive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes learning for all students.
  • Help monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and assisting with targeted interventions where necessary.
  • Encourage and motivate students, fostering their confidence and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Contribute to extra-curricular activities and school events, helping to enrich students' overall educational experience.

What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a degree in any discipline, with a strong academic background.
  • Be passionate about education and supporting the development of young people.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • Be proactive, adaptable, and patient, with a genuine desire to make a difference in the classroom.
  • Have strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Prior experience working with young people, either in a school or voluntary capacity, is beneficial but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
