Teaching Personnel is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an English Graduate to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time role begins in March and runs until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the position to become permanent depending on performance.
About the Role:
This role is perfect for an English graduate with a passion for education and a desire to support young people in their academic and personal development. It offers a unique chance to gain valuable classroom experience, making it an ideal position for those considering a future career in teaching or education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in English lessons, both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis, to help them grasp complex concepts and develop their skills.
- Provide additional assistance to students who may require extra support with literacy, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons, helping to create a positive learning environment for all students.
- Encourage students to develop confidence in their reading, writing, and analytical skills, fostering a love of English.
- Monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers and the school’s SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) as appropriate.
- Work with students to develop strategies for exam preparation, time management, and effective study habits.
- Support the planning and execution of classroom activities and enrichment opportunities related to English and literacy.

- Hold a degree in English or a related subject.

- Prior experience working with young people, either in an educational setting or through voluntary roles, is advantageous but not essential.
