History Teacher – Permanent Role in Nottingham (NG5)
A well-established secondary school in Nottingham is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated History Teacher to join their humanities department on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who is passionate about bringing history to life and encouraging students to develop critical thinking and analytical skills.
The successful candidate will be teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to contribute to A-Level teaching for the right candidate. The school prides itself on delivering a broad and engaging curriculum that helps students understand historical events, their impact, and their relevance to the modern world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver dynamic History lessons that foster curiosity and debate
- Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach A-Level
- Assess and track student progress, providing targeted support where necessary
- Encourage historical enquiry, source analysis, and critical thinking skills
- Create a positive classroom environment with high expectations for behaviour and achievement
- Work collaboratively within the humanities department to develop engaging resources
- Support extracurricular activities such as history clubs, trips, and competitions
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4 (A-Level experience is desirable but not essential)
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching history
- Excellent classroom management and the ability to engage all learners
- A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to department initiatives

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
