Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)

Are you a passionate and inspiring History teacher looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic educator to join our vibrant secondary school in Darwen as a History Teacher for a maternity cover position starting in April 2025.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality History lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, inspiring a love of the subject while ensuring academic progress. This is a full-time position, and you will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of teaching and learning within the Humanities department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated History lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress to ensure every child reaches their potential.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Work collaboratively with the Humanities team to support curriculum development and enrichment activities.
  • Contribute to the wider school community and uphold our values and ethos.

About You:

We are looking for a committed and motivated teacher who:

  • Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a relevant degree in History or a related subject.
  • Has a proven track record of teaching History at secondary level (NQTs/ECTs are welcome to apply).
  • Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and the ability to inspire students.
  • Is a team player with strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Shares our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
