HLTA – Ashton-in-Makerfield (WN4), Wigan
Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a primary school in the Ashton-in-Makerfield area (WN4), Wigan. The school is looking to appoint a dedicated HLTA to start on Monday, 15th April 2024, with the role set to continue for 12 months. The ideal candidate will be expected to commit to the full duration of the role.
This position requires flexibility, as it will involve a mix of teaching and support duties. Responsibilities will include covering PPA sessions and providing general support across all year groups. This role would be ideal for an experienced HLTA or an ECT looking for consistent work and the opportunity to gain further experience teaching across different primary year groups.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A HLTA qualification (or relevant Level 4 education qualification) or QTS
- Significant experience working within a school setting
- Experience planning, preparing, and delivering lessons (preferred but not essential, as teaching materials will be provided)
- The ability to conduct observations and provide feedback to staff and parents
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with staff and students
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND needs (e.g., Autism, SEMH, etc.)
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to helping pupils achieve their goals
Role Overview:
- HLTA role until the end of the year.
- Start date: ASAP
- Support across various year groups
- Competitive daily pay rate (£95-£105 per day) – No agency fees

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
