Graduate Teaching Assistant – Primary & Secondary Schools (Wigan) – September 2025 Start
Are you a graduate looking for paid school-based experience before pursuing a career in education? The Role:
- Full-time positions in primary and secondary schools across Wigan.
- Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping with learning and development.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities.
- Provide additional support for students with special educational needs (SEN) or those needing extra academic guidance.
- Gain practical classroom experience before progressing into teaching, educational psychology, or other education-based careers.
What We’re Looking For:
- A degree in any subject – ideal for those considering a career in education.
- A positive and proactive approach to working with young people.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Previous experience working with children (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
