Role: Health and Social Care Lecturer
Start: January 2025 or sooner (sooner is desirable)
Salary: £27,425 - £40,369 dependent on experience.
Contract: Fulltime, permanent
Area: Cambridge
A highly reputable Further Education College in Cambridge is seeking a passionate and dedicated Lecturer of Health and Social Care to join their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and high-quality teaching in Health and Social Care across a range of levels (Level 2 to Level 5)
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans and schemes of work in line with curriculum guidelines
- Assess and monitor students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic development
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in the health and social care sector, incorporating this into teaching materials
- Contribute to the development of innovative teaching methods and course materials
- Provide pastoral support to students, encouraging a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and professional development opportunities
- Engage with external stakeholders, including industry professionals, to enhance the learning experience and provide opportunities for work placements or guest lectures
Essential Requirements
- A relevant degree or professional qualification in Health and Social Care or a related field
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one
- Recent and relevant experience in Health and Social Care, either in a teaching or professional capacity
- Strong knowledge of current Health and Social Care practices, standards, and legislation
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- The ability to motivate and inspire students from diverse backgrounds
- A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in education
Desirable
- Experience in delivering BTEC, CACHE, or other vocational qualifications
- Knowledge of digital learning tools and a willingness to incorporate technology into teaching
- Previous experience working in a Further Education setting
