Job Title: Head of School
Location: Dorset
Salary: Negotiable
Contract: Fixed Term (Jan - April 2025)
Are you a Senior Leader within Education, and are looking for a new role to start in the new year? This may be for you! We are working alongside a Primary School located in Dorset, who are actively seeking a Head of School to join from January 2025, on a fixed term basis until April 2025, with potential to go permanent. If you have previous Headship experience, or you're an Assistant/Deputy Head looking for a step up, we could have the solution for you.
Key Duties:
- Hold and articulate clear values and moral purpose focused on providing a world-class education for all pupils.
- Demonstrate optimistic personal behaviour, positive relationships and attitudes towards pupils and colleagues, and towards parents and members of the local community.
- Lead by example – with integrity, creativity, resilience, and clarity – drawing on own scholarship, expertise and skills, and that of those around them.
- Sustain wide, current knowledge and understanding of education systems locally, nationally and globally, and pursue continuous professional development.
- Work with political and financial astuteness, within a clear set of principles centred on the vision, ably translating local and national policy into the school context.
- Communicate compellingly the vision and drive the strategic leadership, empowering all pupils nd colleagues to excel.
Requirements:
- A Headteacher/Senior Leadership qualification (NPQH) is essential for this role.
- A UK Teaching Qualification with QTS (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent).
- Prior experience working with SEN/SEMH students would be desireable.
- Previous experience working within a Senior Leadership position (Assistant Head, Deputy Head etc.).
- A Masters degree in Educational Leadership is desireable, not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
