Job description

Join a School That Puts Students First

Are you an experienced Primary Teacher with QTS who is passionate about inclusive education?

Teaching Personnel is excited to present a rewarding full-time opportunity at a specialist school in Bournemouth, catering to students aged 7 to 16 with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and a range of additional learning needs. This school provides an innovative, structured, and nurturing environment where emotional and educational development go hand in hand.

The school takes pride in its creative and therapeutic approach to teaching, supporting students through a personalised curriculum that nurtures self-belief, curiosity, and independence. With a strong focus on well-being and relationships, the school environment is purposefully calm, consistent, and tailored to help children thrive at their own pace. Staff are supported through collaboration, reflective practice, and access to therapeutic training that enhances teaching in an SEN context. The leadership team is deeply committed to staff well-being, offering clear communication, mentoring, and a shared vision for inclusive success. It’s an environment where your contributions are valued and your growth is encouraged.

A Role That Offers Real Purpose

As a Primary Teacher in this setting, your role will extend far beyond the traditional classroom. You’ll be planning and delivering lessons that are highly differentiated and accessible for students with varied needs, all while maintaining a warm, patient, and consistent presence. Your teaching will help shape not only academic progress but also emotional development, social skills, and confidence.

With class sizes kept intentionally small and supported by skilled teaching assistants, you’ll be able to dedicate time to building strong relationships with students and supporting them through their learning and emotional journeys. Your ability to adapt, empathise, and connect will be essential in creating a safe and positive learning environment where each young person feels seen, heard, and valued. This role will challenge and stretch your creativity as you explore new ways to reach each learner. No two days are ever the same, and every small breakthrough becomes a big victory. For the right person, this is more than just a job—it’s a calling.

Why Choose Teaching Personnel?

Working through Teaching Personnel means more than just finding a placement. It means gaining a professional partner who supports your career and well-being every step of the way. You’ll benefit from regular professional development opportunities tailored to SEN teaching, ongoing guidance from a dedicated consultant who truly understands the sector, and weekly pay via our easy-to-use PAYE system. You’ll also become part of a wider network of educators committed to inclusive and therapeutic education.

Teaching Personnel understands the complexities of SEN teaching and is committed to ensuring you feel confident, supported, and equipped to thrive in your role. We work closely with schools to find the best fit for both the educator and the setting, allowing you to flourish where your strengths are most needed.

Be Part of Something Meaningful

If you’re ready to step into a role where you can make a significant impact every day, this position could be your next meaningful career move. Whether you’re experienced in SEN or looking to transition into specialist education with the right support, this opportunity promises both challenge and deep professional fulfilment.

This is your chance to join a school that genuinely puts children’s needs first and works tirelessly to remove barriers to learning. You’ll play an integral role in shaping students' confidence and preparing them for the next stage of their education journey. Teaching in this environment offers rare moments of joy and genuine connection that stay with you long after the school day ends. The sense of purpose and pride that comes from supporting these pupils is difficult to find elsewhere. If you want to use your skills where they’ll have real impact, we’d love to hear from you.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
