About the School: A prestigious independent school in Salisbury is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to lead its Drama Department. Role Overview: The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Drama Department, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative educator to inspire students and staff alike, and to contribute to the school’s vibrant cultural life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Drama Department, including curriculum development and assessment.
- Teach drama across a range of year groups, instilling a passion for the subject in students.
- Direct school productions and other drama-related events.
- Support and mentor drama teachers within the department.
- Liaise with other departments to integrate drama into the broader curriculum.
- Maintain and enhance the school’s drama facilities and resources.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Engage with parents, carers, and the wider community to promote the school’s drama program.
Candidate Requirements:
- A degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience in teaching drama at various levels.
- A track record of directing successful school productions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to professional development and staying abreast of educational best practices.
- Enthusiasm for fostering a love of drama in young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
