Whether you’re aspiring to be a teacher or looking to support students in a wider capacity, this role is perfect for building skills and progressing towards a teacher training course or other roles in education.

  • Graduate Teaching Assistants required for both primary and secondary schools.
  • Full-time positions starting ASAP (Full-time and flexible work available)
  • Temporary employment for the remainder of the academic year.
  • Competitive pay with daily rates starting at £85 per day.
  • Ideal experience ahead of a future PGCE or other teacher training course.

What to Expect:

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, every day will offer new challenges and learning experiences. You will:

  • Support class teachers in mainstream settings, ensuring pupils understand and engage with the work set.
  • Provide 1:1 support for students who may need extra help, including those with special educational needs (SEN) or those struggling with behaviour expectations.
  • Deliver small group intervention and catch-up sessions to help students achieve their learning targets.

Cover lessons in the absence of the class teacher, giving you valuable experience for future teaching roles. Full support will be provided by the school and training can be provided by TP for this also.

These positions offer fantastic opportunities in schools across Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan, and surrounding areas such as St Helens, Salford, Leigh, and Chorley. With schools consistently rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted, this is your chance to work in a supportive and progressive environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
