Level 2 Teaching Assistant
Oldham
Start: April 2025
Contract: Fulltime, Permanent
Salary: Dependent on experience


A highly reputable and well-established Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join its permanent staff team in Oldham. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic learning community, committed to delivering high-quality education and supporting the development of all pupils.

The Role:

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support and enhance the learning experience of students, providing tailored assistance to ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed. The role involves assisting with classroom management, preparing resources, and delivering targeted interventions for individuals or small groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management.
  • Working with small groups or individual pupils to deliver intervention programmes.
  • Assisting in the planning and preparation of learning resources.
  • Monitoring and reporting pupil progress to the teacher.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Supporting the social, emotional, and personal development of pupils.
  • Assisting with the supervision of pupils during break and lunchtimes as required.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.

Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children in a school environment.
  • Experience supporting pupils with diverse learning needs, including SEND, is desirable.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A passion for supporting children’s learning and development.

Additional Requirements:

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) is essential.
