Graduate Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (High Peak)
We are seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in the High Peak. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate who is considering a career in teaching and wants to gain valuable classroom experience.
Role Overview:
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers in delivering lessons and providing targeted assistance to students who need additional help. This role is ideal for a recent graduate who is looking to gain practical experience in a classroom setting before pursuing a teaching qualification. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure students are engaged and progressing in their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students in a range of subjects.
- Assist teachers with lesson planning, classroom management, and lesson delivery.
- Help to differentiate work to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.
- Encourage student participation and engagement in lessons.
- Support students with literacy and numeracy development.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
- Assist with extracurricular activities and school events.
Requirements:
- Recent graduate with a strong academic background.
- A desire to pursue a career in teaching or education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive and proactive approach to supporting students.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
