Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a number of Graduate Teaching Assistants to work with one of our partner SEN schools in the East Lancashire area. As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our SEN students in their learning journey. You will work closely with experienced teachers and other professionals, contributing to the development and implementation of Educational HealthCare Plans (EHCPs) for each student. Your main responsibilities will include:

- Providing one-on-one or small group support to SEN students in the classroom.

- Assisting teachers in planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.

- Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

- Collaborating with other staff members to monitor student progress and provide feedback.

- Offering emotional and social support to students to enhance their well-being and confidence.

- Contributing to the assessment and recording of student achievements and development.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Psychology, Special Education, Youth Work etc.).
  • A genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude.
  • The ability to adapt and be flexible in various classroom situations.
  • Previous experience working with children or individuals with SEN is advantageous but not mandatory.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
