About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured geography lessons in line with the national curriculum, tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching methods to support individual learning.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel motivated to participate and explore geographical concepts.
  • Incorporate a variety of teaching resources and technology to enhance learning and keep students engaged.
  • Support the development of students' analytical and critical thinking skills through the exploration of global issues and geographic phenomena.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the geography department to share best practices and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events to enrich the educational experience and promote a love of geography beyond the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior, ensuring effective communication with parents and carers.

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Geography or a related discipline.
  • Experience teaching geography at the secondary level, with a strong understanding of the curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching geography.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students of varying abilities.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to teaching, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Effective classroom management skills, with the ability to create a supportive and focused learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
